Italian yacht builder Rossinavi has made waves with the launch of the M/Y Seawolf X, a 140-foot hybrid-electric power catamaran. This all-aluminum vessel with a 45-foot beam is designed to combine sleek aesthetics with eco-friendly solutions. Seawolf X can cruise entirely in full electric mode on day trips and up to 90 percent of the time on multi-day voyages. Even on transatlantic trips, the innovative catamaran can maintain electric mode 80 percent of the time, significantly reducing its carbon footprint. Seawolf X boasts impressive sustainability features that align with Rossinavi’s new BluE label philosophy.
One of the standout features of Seawolf X is her Hibernation mode, which activates when the yacht is moored. This mode minimizes energy consumption, allowing the vessel to give back power to the dock or a private property. Remarkably, Seawolf X can generate enough energy to charge an entire villa. Her two diesel generators can fully recharge the batteries within five hours using shore power.
Advanced Technology and Design
Federico Rossi, COO of Rossinavi, expressed pride in the launch of the Seawolf X, highlighting her advanced power management and propulsion technologies. The BluE label yachts, including Seawolf X, aim to reduce CO2 emissions using batteries and solar panels. Energy harvested by the solar panels during the day is stored in advanced batteries and released at night, mimicking the natural bioluminescence of glowing plankton.
Adding to its futuristic design, Seawolf X features an onboard artificial intelligence (AI) system. Developed by Rossinavi, this AI constantly monitors the vessel’s operation, predicts the needs of guests, and communicates with crew members. It ensures the battery pack remains within the ideal 20-80 percent range, prolonging battery life and enhancing efficiency.
The exterior of Seawolf X, crafted by Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design, presents a sleek, low-profile silhouette suggestive of a sports car. The interior, designed by New York-based Meyer Davis Studio, offers luxurious and modern living spaces. The yacht features three distinct outdoor areas: a vibrant cockpit with a pool, a spacious sun deck for sunbathing and socializing, and a bow area with a hidden pool and convertible home theater. Solar panels are seamlessly blended into the design, maximizing energy recovery.
Modern-Age Yacht
Fulvio De Simoni, founder of Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design, envisions Seawolf X as the yacht of the future. The design team aimed to break free from conventional boundaries while incorporating cutting-edge technology for minimal environmental impact.
For boat enthusiasts seeking a blend of luxury and eco-conscious innovation, Seawolf X represents a significant leap forward in yachting. Her ability to operate predominantly in electric mode, coupled with advanced AI and sophisticated design, positions her as a pioneering vessel in the marine industry.
