Polish yacht manufacturer Sialia Yachts, renowned for its innovation in electric yacht construction, introduces its latest build, the Sialia 45 Sport, expanding its fleet alongside the esteemed 59-foot and 80-foot models.
Founded by Stanislav Szadkowski and Tomasz Gackoski, Sialia Yachts embodies the concept of “conscious luxury,” crafting performance-driven electric yachts that transcend propulsion, integrating capabilities to support land-based electric grids. Szadkowski boasts 50 years of entrepreneurial experience, including sponsorship of ICPT, Europe’s leading heavy-duty battery system maker for commercial electric vehicles, while Gackoski, with a background in aerospace engineering, brings 11 years of expertise in advanced lightweight structures to the table.
At the heart of Sialia’s electric boats lies a holistic system, integrating software, hardware, digital interfaces, charging infrastructure, and more. Crucial to this system is the hull design, which significantly influences energy efficiency and range. Sialia Yachts collaborates with Petestep of Sweden, employing its innovative stepped V-shaped deflectors to minimize hull friction by reducing the wetted surface. This revolutionary design redirects water flow to enhance propulsion efficiency by up to 35 percent, ensuring a smoother ride and reduced energy consumption.
Designed by Denis Popov Design, the Sialia 45 Sport (45’ LOA, 13’ 5” beam) caters to a burgeoning demand for compact luxury electric dayboats.
“We recognized a demand in the market for a smaller model that offers an electric experience at an easier entry point,” says Szadkowski. “The forty-five-foot size fits into most marinas, allows for versatility and accessibility, and is manageable for single operators. Our market research showed us there would be significant interest in a sporty, luxurious, electric dayboat capable of traveling from Miami to the Bahamas (about one hundred and eighty miles) at a speed of twenty-five knots.”
The Sport 45 offers a range of twin inboard/outboard drive trains, ranging from 150 kW to 300 kW per motor, accompanied by battery pack options of 300 kWh, 500 kWh, and 700 kWh. The Ampros drive train system facilitates rapid DC charging of up to 350 kW while remaining compatible with AC shore power, supplemented by integrated solar panels for onboard power generation.
Owners are given a plethora of design choices to curate their desired aesthetic and functionality. Two layout options, Sandbar and Lounge, cater to diverse preferences, offering configurations tailored for either action or relaxation. Further customization is facilitated through three trim levels—Active, Plus, and Premium—encompassing interior and exterior colors, decking, lighting, kitchen amenities, sound systems, helm accessories, and safety features.
The Sialia 45 Sport embodies a paradigm shift in electric boating, offering unparalleled performance, luxury, and sustainability. With its innovative design, customizable features, and commitment to eco-conscious engineering, Sialia Yachts continues to redefine the boundaries of maritime excellence, paving the way for a greener, more exhilarating future on the water.
